Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is teaching the art of traditional basket making in an upcoming program at Prairie Park Nature Center.
The workshop is open to those 18 years-old and older and teaches the basics of basketry while allowing participants to make their own traditional Cherokee-style baskets to take home. The program will be held 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 W. Harper St. Cost is $15 per person.
Additional workshops will be held 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 and 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9.
