Are you ready for summer fun? Yes, we know it’s still spring, but we’re ready to get started now!
The splash pad along Burroughs Creek Trail and Linear Park opened for the season at 9 a.m. today. The splash pad is located near 15th Street and Haskell Avenue, along Burroughs Creek Trail. The splash pad is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. daily. The splash pad debuted in July of last year.
The Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., and the South Park Wading Pool, 1141 Massachusetts St., will open Monday, June 5, for the summer season.
The Outdoor Aquatic Center’s hours are as follows:
- Public Swimming open from Monday, June 5 – Sunday, Aug. 13
Monday–Friday from 1-7:30 p.m. – recreational swim will be available with lap lanes
Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 p.m. – recreational swim will be available with lap lanes - Beginning Monday, June 19, additional lap swimming/water walking hours will be available Monday–Friday from 10 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- Open from Monday, June 5 – Saturday, July 29
Monday–Friday from 1-7 p.m., except for Tuesday, July 4, when it will be closed
Saturday from 1-6 p.m.
Sunday: Closed - The facility can be rented Monday–Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in hour-long blocks. You can reserve the facility online. More information is online at: lawrenceks.org/lprd/aquatics/spwp.
- Lap Swimming
Monday–Thursday from 6:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. and 4-7:30 p.m.
Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Sunday: Closed - Warm Water Workouts
Monday–Friday from 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- $6 for youth ages three to 17 and senior adults 60 years old and older
- $7 for adults 18 years old to 59 years old
- There is no charge for those two years old and under with an adult paid admission. Limit three children per paying adult.
