Competing in their seventh consecutive NAIA National Championship, the Baker dance team posted an overall score of 83.49 and finished in eighth place at the 2023 NAIA National Championships.
"I'm very proud of this team and the performances this weekend," head coach Lynsey Payne said. "We made some quick changes between prelims and finals to help with some of the judge's feedback and the team executed them beautifully. We made a lot of memories this trip and have had a great season."
Baker came into day one with a ton of energy and posted a score of 83.23 in the preliminary round and sat in sixth place heading into the final day.
The Wildcats brought the energy one more time on Saturday and after taking 25 percent of their prelim score and 75 percent of their final score, the Wildcats received an overall score of 83.49.
On Monday morning, the NAIA National Office announced its NAIA All-Americans which included three Baker Wildcats. The first was Alyssa Waller who earned First Team All-American honors. Teammates Emma Jones and Olivia Chrisman also earned honorable mention honors.
Baker's season is not over as they will now work towards the College Classic which will be held in Orlando, Fla., on April 7-8.
