Baker Dance Kicks Off 2023 Season on Friday
Coming off a strong top-10 finish at the NAIA National Championships in the 2021-22 season, the Baker dance team kicks off the season on Friday evening as they travel to Salina, Kan., to compete in the KWU Invitational.
"We are really excited for the season to begin," head coach Lynsey Payne said. "We've been working really hard on this routine. Our new members on the team are extremely talented and I am really looking forward to seeing how far this team can go."
The Baker dance team returns six dancers to their competition roster from a year ago, when the Wildcats won another Heart of America Conference Championship and won the NAIA Midwest Regional to receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships.
Following their competition on Friday, the Wildcats will have two more competitions on the road before hosting the Baker Classic on February 11, inside the Collins Center. Baker will then compete in the Heart of America Conference Championships on Feb. 18, hosted by Missouri Valley in Marshall, Mo.
Baker then will host the NAIA Midwest Dance Regional on Feb. 25, for a chance to earn a trip to the NAIA National Championships on March 9-11, in Ypsilanti, Mich. The season will not end there as they Wildcat dance team will then hit the road to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the College Classic.
