Safety is always top of mind for us, as we know it is for you. Please join us for an evening during this series of “Let’s Talk Safety” Community Forums. Pick the date and location most convenient for you: August 9 at Langston Hughes ES, Aug. 11 at Lawrence HS, Aug. 16 at Prairie Park ES, Aug. 18 at Southwest MS, Aug. 23 at Free State HS, or Aug. 25 at Liberty Memorial Central MS. All event times are 6:00-7:30.
We’ll discuss comprehensive prevention and preparedness topics. These include mental health services, social and emotional learning, restorative practices, and crisis planning and emergency drills, including ALICE training. The Lawrence Kansas Police Department will join us to share information about the role of school resource officers. We’ll talk about the importance of open communication, timely reporting of safety concerns, and workng together to keep our community safe.
