The Kansas Jayhawks will play the Missouri Tigers at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 11, according to an April 10 announcement. The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 12 and will be broadcast nationally, with kickoff time and television details to be released later.
This matchup is part of the StorageMart Border Showdown and marks the first time since 2005 that the two teams will meet in Lawrence. The rivalry between Kansas and Missouri resumed in Columbia, Missouri, in 2025.
The series has a long history, having been played 121 times since its start in 1891. This makes it tied for the tenth-most played rivalry in college football history. While Kansas leads games played at home with a record of 26-16-3, Missouri holds a narrow overall lead at 57-55-9.
The contest against Missouri is scheduled as the second game of the season for Kansas, following their opener against Long Island on Friday, Sept. 4. In total, Kansas plans to host six home games during the season: Long Island (Sept. 4), Missouri (Sept. 11), Middle Tennessee for Family Weekend (Oct. 3), Baylor for Homecoming (Oct. 24), UCF (Nov.7), and BYU (Nov.21).
Fans interested in attending can purchase or renew season tickets by calling the ticket office or visiting online sales platforms as directed by team officials.
Looking ahead to preparations for the upcoming season, fans are invited to attend an open practice session featuring the Jayhawks on Saturday, April 11 at Lawrence High School.
