No. 18 Kansas and Oklahoma State suspended their baseball series opener on April 17 after inclement weather moved into the area during the bottom of the third inning. The game will resume on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. Central Time.
The suspension occurred with Kansas trailing Oklahoma State by a score of 6-2, with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. When play resumes, Oklahoma State’s Deacon Pomeroy will be at bat.
Saturday’s originally scheduled matchup between the teams is set to begin approximately 45 minutes after completion of the resumed game.
In Friday’s action before play was halted, Kansas took an early lead in the first inning when Cade Baldridge hit a solo home run to left-center field. Oklahoma State responded quickly in their half of the first inning with a two-run homer from Brock Thompson, taking a 2-1 lead after one frame.
Oklahoma State continued its power display into the second inning as Garrett Shull, Alex Conover, and Thompson each hit home runs to extend their team’s advantage to 6-1. Kansas narrowed the deficit slightly in the top of the third when Jordan Bach hit a solo home run, making it a 6-2 contest before weather stopped play.
Baldridge’s home run marked his sixth of this season while Bach recorded his fifth homer.
